These girls are referred to us by Allegheny County's Office of Children, Youth and Families (CYF). Our goal is to facilitate the critical transition from an out-of-home placement back into the family, school and community.
The girls are victims of abuse (physical, mental and/or sexual), neglect and abandonment that has resulted in removal from their homes, and they are now in foster care or placement/group homes. Once it has been determined by the courts that a child may return home, the difficult transition of reunification begins. These girls require a high level of service, including intensive care management.
We also offer parent support and education groups to help parents/caretakers cope with the various challenges of family life.
